Where
are we and our grandchildren headed? Oil depletion clashes with growing
food. Global climate change "threatens" the environment. Modern
agriculture is challenged by the organic movement and nutrient dense
produce. What would Nature have us do? These and many other major
issues concerning global, sustainable living will be addressed.

Calvin Bey @ Harmony GardensThis is a series of talks/discussions on big issues of the day. While they
are often complex and frustrating, we need to understand how they are
affecting us now, and will be affecting us, our children and
grandchildren in the future. I will use older and recent material to
present overviews of the issues, and submit some proposals for
solutions to the problems. While there are no "silver bullet fixes",
being better informed should help us to do a better job of "connecting
the dots" and making better daily and life-style choices.

This course is about critical issues in natural resources of the world today. Topics will include:

a. oil/gas/coal depletion and alternatives to fossil fuels

c. environmental degradation, pollution, and climate change

e. development of agriculture and alternative/eco-agriculture

f. health issues of the world and choices in nutrition

h. scenarios for future and skills needed to survive
